48 hours to freeze . . .
We’re just 48 hours away from the unsolving of a lot of transfer mysteries. There are some teams who have done their shopping in time and there are some like Arsenal, Newcastle etc who still believe that they can rope in their targets in the last few hours. I’m just waiting for some last minute surprises. I wont be surprised if Arsenal does not buy anyone in this window.
Ashley Cole – William Gallas: Stays the same. Chelsea and Arsenal have reached a deadlock and may be, one of them might have to blink the eye first in the next two days. While Chelsea has already bolstered their defence with Boulahrouz, it is Arsenal who would be at a loss if this deal does not got through in this window and they miss out on some essential case which could be over 15 million pounds.
Arsenal for Carlos Tevez: I don’t see a point here. They have some very good forwards (at least on paper) and their current problem is in the midfield than in forward. They have not yet replaced Vieira and Pires. I won’t be surprised if Chelsea makes an offer than Corinthians can’t refuse, only to keep the rivals away from an explosive player.
Arsenal for Mascherano: Will be good for Arsenal if this really goes through. Mascherano has been very good for Argentina and I see all Arsenal fans are praying that they should sign him.
Man Utd for Hargreaves: One more to the list controversial transfer potentials of this season. There have been contradicting reports in various press reports, ranging from Bayern accepting the bid to issuing hands off warning to Man Utd. If Hargreaves comes over to Man Utd, that’s a big plus for them. Hargreaves had a very good world cup despite England’s poor show.
Man Utd for Trezeguet: Fair enough. They can’t rely on the injury-prone Louis Saha to last the season and they need a quality striker. I wonder why they need to go after an aged striker, while they can try someone like Carlos Tevez. Weeks back, rumours had that Tevez would move to Man Utd but things have changed since then.
Spurs sign Mido: This is fact and not rumour. Spurs have finally signed Mido who played wonderfully well for them in the last season. I’m personally very happy for this move. I always liked Mido and I would like to see more of him in the premiership.
AC Milan for Drogba: Chelsea striker Didier Drogba was spotted talking to AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliano in a Milan restaurant on Monday, sparking speculation of a possible move for the Ivory Coast international. I don’t see this happening at all. Drogba is certainly featuring the scheme of things as per Jose Mourinho, and I dont see him leaving Drogba that easily. And if at all this had to happen, this would have been built into the transfer of Shevchenko.
The Best Rumour of all: Chelsea and AC Milan are on red alert after Ronaldinho was left out of Barcelona’s La Liga opener with Celta Vigo on Monday after a row with coach Frank Rijkaard. I hope he leaves Barca. They have become quite a thorn Chelsea’s flesh or may be it’s vice versa. Ronnie leaving Barca might come true. After all, Ballack’s move to Chelsea was also a rumour months back.
